Thai Nguyen University meets with press agencies on the occasion of the 101st anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day
On the afternoon of June 11, Thai Nguyen University held a meeting with central and local press agencies on the occasion of the 101st Anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2026). Attending the meeting were representatives of press management agencies; the Provincial Journalists Association; central and local press agencies; and leaders and officials in charge of communications at Thai Nguyen University.

Speaking at the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Hung, Director of Thai Nguyen University, extended warm congratulations to journalists on the occasion of the 101st Anniversary of Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 – June 21, 2026); and expressed recognition and sincere gratitude for the press agencies' active support in promoting Thai Nguyen University's image, brand, and outstanding achievements for the past time.
According to information provided at the meeting, Thai Nguyen University is one of 3 regional universities nationwide, established in 1994, serving as the center for training, scientific research, and technology transfer for the midland and northern mountainous region. After more than 30 years of development, Thai Nguyen University has grown continuously, affirming its position as a multidisciplinary, multi-sector higher education institution that has contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of the region and the country.

Thai Nguyen University currently has 7 member universities, 1 college, the School of Foreign Languages, the Faculty of International Studies, 3 sub-campuses in northern mountainous provinces, and numerous research institutes and centers. The university's faculty, officials, and staff number nearly 4,000, including 2,510 lecturers; 206 professors and associate professors; and 1,050 Ph.D. holders.
In 2025, Thai Nguyen University's enrollment reached nearly 115,000 students, including approximately 5,000 postgraduate trainees and nearly 1,000 international students from 26 countries and territories. In 2026, Thai Nguyen University enrolled students in 238 undergraduate programs with nearly 24,000 places and 29 college programs with more than 4,300 places. In the first 6 months of 2026, the university approved the opening of 35 new training majors at various levels, while stepping up the integration of artificial intelligence and digital transformation content into training programs.
Science, technology, and international cooperation continue to record many outstanding results. Thai Nguyen University is implementing dozens of cooperation activities with international partners, carrying out many large-scale research projects; and has launched the Regional Innovation Center to promote linkages among the State, schools, and enterprises, contributing to building an innovation ecosystem for the midland and northern mountainous region.
Notably, in May 2026, Thai Nguyen University and Thai Nguyen Province signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement for the 2026–2030 period to strengthen coordination in high-quality human resource training, scientific research, technology transfer, policy consultation, and innovation ecosystem development serving the socio-economic development of the province and the region.
At the meeting, delegates commended the results achieved by Thai Nguyen University for the past time and discussed many topics related to future communications cooperation.
