Provincial People's Committee Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan inspects a number of hydropower, thermal power, and mineral processing plants in the province
To establish a basis for accurately assessing existing potential and capacity, to support research on additions to Power Development Plan VIII (the National Power Development Plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050), to proactively secure energy sources for development, and to enhance the value of the province's resources, a provincial working delegation led by Vuong Quoc Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, conducted a field survey of a number of hydropower, thermal power, and mineral processing plants in the province. Also joining the delegation were Duong Van Luong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and leaders of several departments, sectors, and units.

At Khuoi Thoc Hydropower Plant (Phong Quang Commune), the delegation reviewed the plant's operation and power generation status. With a capacity of 3 MW, the plant maintains stable operations, contributing to the supply of energy for mountainous areas in the province.
Working delegation reviewing the investment status and deep mineral processing capacity at the Lead-Zinc Non-Ferrous Metal Production Plant Project of Hoang Nam Trading and Service Co., Ltd.
At the Lead-Zinc Non-Ferrous Metal Production Plant Project of Hoang Nam Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Cho Don Commune), the working delegation reviewed the investment status, technology, and deep processing capacity. The company has invested in a lead production line with a capacity of approximately 5,000 tons per year; output in 2025 reached more than 3,500 tons.
Delegation surveying the operating status and new technology of An Khanh Thermal Power Plant
At An Khanh Thermal Power Plant (An Khanh Commune), the working delegation surveyed the equipment system, technology, and operating status. The plant has a capacity of 100 MW; power output in 2025 reached nearly 470 million kWh, and in the first six months of 2026 reached more than 315 million kWh. The plant maintains safe, stable, and continuous operation in accordance with the dispatch requirements of the national power system.
Provincial People's Committee Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan stated: Through the field survey, the province has additional grounds to assess power generation capacity and study the addition of approximately 1,300 MW to the Power Development Plan, helping to ensure energy sources for industrial development, production, and investment attraction needs. The development of power sources must be linked to the requirements of ensuring energy security, system safety, environmental protection, and alignment with the strategic direction of Power Development Plan VIII.
Regarding An Khanh Thermal Power Plant, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the company's application of new-generation thermal power plant technology, which has helped maintain stable operations and meet the requirements of the national power system. He requested that the company continue to strengthen the application of science and technology, improve production efficiency, ensure operational safety, and maximize its designed capacity.
Regarding small hydropower plants, he requested that relevant authorities regularly inspect and assess the safety of the facilities, proactively prepare plans to ensure safety during operation, and at the same time make reasonable use of hydropower potential to serve the livelihood needs of mountainous areas.
In the field of mineral extraction and processing, Provincial People's Committee Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan requested that Hoang Nam Trading and Service Co., Ltd. focus on completing the remaining items of the project, step up the application of technology, improve product quality, and ensure production safety. This will gradually improve investment efficiency, create products with higher added value and competitiveness, and work toward forming an industrial product supply chain, particularly to serve FDI enterprises.
He also assigned departments and sectors, in line with their functions and duties, to continue partnering with businesses and helping to resolve their difficulties; to review plans, mechanisms, and policies related to energy development and mineral processing; and to create favorable conditions for projects to operate effectively, making practical contributions to economic growth and ensuring energy security in the province.
