A governance imprint behind 243,000 tons of connected steel
The final days of July and early days of August 2026 marked new signals for Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Corporation (TISCO). On July 31, 2026, through the connections facilitated by Thai Nguyen Province, TISCO signed memoranda of understanding with 12 investors and businesses in need of 168,000 tons of steel for works and projects in the area. Just over a week later, on August 8, 2026, TISCO went on to sign with six project investors, with a total steel demand of 75,000 tons. Across the two rounds of connections, the steel demand established in the memoranda of understanding reached 243,000 tons. Behind these telling figures lies the market-connecting mindset of Thai Nguyen’s provincial leadership.
Under the direct direction of Member of the Party Central Executive Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan, specialized agencies proactively reviewed steel demand at works and projects in the area, connecting investors and contractors with TISCO to directly discuss product types, technical standards, supply schedules, pricing, and cooperation possibilities.
Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Corporation (TISCO) signing a cooperation memorandum on July 31, 2026 with 12 businesses and investors, supplying steel products with a total committed output of 168,000 tons, helping strengthen ties between manufacturers and construction units, promoting the use of domestically produced steel, and generating momentum for local economic development

This approach clearly reflects a substantive, results-driven governance mindset: not merely listening to businesses report their difficulties, but proactively seeking solutions; not doing the work for businesses, but providing opportunities for them to access the market.
Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan also calls on enterprises and investors to prioritize TISCO products when they fully meet requirements on quality, schedule, and cost
The message is very clear: the province opens up opportunities, while businesses must prove their capability through their own competitiveness. From a single directive by the head of the Provincial People’s Committee, departments and sectors got involved, specific needs were connected, and cooperation memoranda were formed. This reflects a new governance spirit in Thai Nguyen: using real-world effectiveness as the yardstick for standing alongside businesses.
243,000 tons of steel are only the initial commitments. But from these connections, more shipments of TISCO steel are expected to leave the factory for works and projects right here in Thai Nguyen
To the people of Thai Nguyen, TISCO is not just the name of a business or a memory of the “cradle of the metallurgical industry”, but carries a much deeper meaning. A strong, thriving TISCO matters far beyond the company itself. Behind hundreds of thousands of tons of steel are jobs and incomes for thousands of workers, a source of budget revenue, a network of supporting businesses, and an important link in the province’s industrial ecosystem. Precisely because of this historical depth and TISCO’s inherent standing, the requirement set out by Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan - “Preserving and promoting the value of a steel brand of national stature” - carries a meaning that goes beyond mere encouragement. It is also a requirement for development. For tradition is only truly valuable when it becomes a resource for the future.
