On the morning of June 9, at the Provincial Cultural Center, Thai Nguyen Province Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee organized the "Thai Nguyen - A Thousand Red Hearts" Blood Donation Festival in response to the 12th "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" Program in 2026.
Residents donating blood
From early in the morning, large numbers of officials, civil servants and public employees, youth union members, armed forces personnel and people from across the province arrived to register as blood donors. According to the Organizing Committee, the program attracted over 1,800 registered blood donors, reflecting the spirit of sharing and community responsibility among the people of Thai Nguyen.
The festival took place in a lively and orderly atmosphere with the support of many volunteers. Reception, screening and blood collection areas were arranged efficiently, creating favorable conditions for blood donors.
Volunteers assisting residents with registration
This is a key activity within the framework of the 12th "Red Journey - Connecting Vietnamese Blood" Program in Thai Nguyen. The program aims to raise public awareness and encourage participation in voluntary blood donation, while also increasing understanding of thalassemia and the significance of donating blood to save lives.
As of 5:00 p.m. on June 9, the Organizing Committee had received thousands of units of blood from volunteers. All collected blood will be added to the reserve blood supply for emergency care and patient treatment, helping to address the blood shortage during the summer season.
Overview of the Festival
Over 12 years of joining the Red Journey Program, the voluntary blood donation movement in Thai Nguyen has grown increasingly broad-based, attracting participation from people across all walks of life and becoming a humanitarian activity with a strong ripple effect in the community, helping to spread the message: "Donate blood, save lives - a noble act."
