Nearly 31,000 people receive health checkups at community health centers and stations
To date, 100% (92/92) of communes and wards across the province have completed the establishment and launch of community health care centers/stations and elderly health care centers, prior to May 30, 2026. Of these, 15 out of 92 communes and wards have additionally established 36 community health care and elderly health care stations.

The centers have been invested in with relatively comprehensive facilities, including electricity, water, enclosed restrooms, seating, bookshelves and newspaper racks, along with basic medical equipment such as scales, height measures, blood pressure monitors, thermometers, and stethoscopes. Many localities have also set up outdoor exercise areas for recreational, cultural, artistic, fitness, sports, wellness, and club activities. Notably, in Van Xuan Ward, the main center has been equipped with one AI robot to assist with community health consultation and care.

Localities have made use of surplus facilities left over from mergers, as well as existing facilities of health stations and sub-stations, to arrange activity spaces for the centers, addressing the situation of vacant, deteriorating offices going to waste.

Immediately after becoming operational, the health care centers and stations have actively organized medical check-ups, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for elderly people; while also implementing a wide range of cultural, artistic, fitness, and sports activities (group wellness exercises, cultural performances, launch of sports clubs, wellness clubs, soft volleyball, folk dance, etc.), attracting large numbers of residents to participate, contributing to improved physical and mental health and strengthened community bonds.

To date, the centers have organized 267 activities with 34,467 participants; of whom 30,998 received health checkups and 3,469 participated in club activities.

In addition, People's Committees of communes and wards have proactively coordinated with hospitals, universities, enterprises, organizations, and individuals in the area to organize medical check-ups, health consultations, and free medicine distribution for elderly people; while also mobilizing community and private-sector resources to support medical equipment, sports apparatus, and other necessary resources to improve the quality of operations at the centers.

In the coming time, the Department of Health will continue to step up communication activities in diverse forms, prioritizing the use of digital platforms, to raise public awareness of the role, significance, and operational effectiveness of community health care centers and elderly health care centers; incorporate population health and family planning activities into the centers' operations, ensure the stable and sustained operation of the centers, promote the model's effectiveness, and meet people's needs.
