Launching and presenting book "For the People, Forget Oneself"
On May 31, the Command of Military Region 1, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Union of Literature and Arts Associations, the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House, and the Northern Phan Family Entrepreneurs Club coordinated to organize the Launching and presenting ceremony of the book "For the People, Forget Oneself".

Attending the Ceremony were Dr. Phan Xuan Dung, President of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations; representatives of leaders of the Command of Military Region 1; and leaders of departments, boards, and branches of Thai Nguyen province.

The book "For the People, Forget Oneself" is edited by journalist and writer Dieu An, with the contribution of many dedicated authors, and published by the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House. The book "For the People, Forget Oneself" has 300 pages with 5 parts, painting an epic, authentic, and deeply moving portrait of the generals of the Vietnam People's Army. Throughout the work, readers are brought back to live through tragic and heroic moments in the company of famous generals of the Ho Chi Minh era such as: General Vo Nguyen Giap; Admiral Giap Van Cuong with the "Oath to keep the sea" at the historic Gac Ma reef; the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers from the years of resistance against the French and Americans through to the years of peace.

Besides, the book devotes a central part to portraying the image of General Phan Van Giang, Politburo Member, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defence - an outstanding military leader with sharp strategic thinking, a general deeply beloved by the people, always unassuming and empathetic.

The launch of the book carries profound significance, an occasion to honor the finest among us — those outstanding individuals who devoted their entire lives to the nation; simultaneously affirming the great national unity bloc and the strong solidarity between the army and the people.

Journalist and writer Dieu An graduated from the inaugural class of the Journalism University and then enlisted in the army, working as a culture teacher for the Air Defense - Air Force Service, before transferring to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Information, where she simultaneously oversaw press management and pursued her writing career. She has had over 100 book titles with over 50 years as a writer. She is famous for her journalistic works, essays, and historical documentary books, particularly books profiling military generals and other prominent Vietnamese figures.
