The first spring after the merger in the revolutionary homeland
This spring, Cho Don welcomes Tet (Lunar New Year) in a new form following the merger of 4 administrative units: Phuong Vien, Bang Lang, Ngoc Phai and Bang Lung town. A new administrative space opens up, bringing expectations of change, development and the aspiration to rise from the internal strength of the land rich in revolutionary traditions.

Cho Don Commune has 39 villages, an area of over 142 km², and is the intertwined living place of 8 ethnic brotherly groups. After the merger, the most easily noticeable thing is not only the expansion of boundaries but also the stability of ideology, consensus among the People, and the trust built in the new administrative apparatus. That is the important foundation for Cho Don to step into the first spring with a steady mindset.

Immediately after the merger, Cho Don commune Party Committee promptly consolidated its organizational structure, establishing all advisory and support agencies, the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations. Working regulations, the full-term working program and the 2025 work program were issued in a timely manner, ensuring unified and smooth leadership from the commune to the village level.

An important milestone of the first year after the merger was the successful organization of the 1st Congress of Cho Don Commune Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, opening a new development path. From the congress resolution, 6 thematic resolutions, many programs, plans and conclusions were issued, quickly bringing the Party's guidelines into life.

In Cho Don’s economic picture, agriculture remains the dominant color, but new highlights have begun to emerge. Two rice crops achieved a total output of more than 4,700 tons, exceeding 115% of the plan. Forest protection and sustainable development continued to be strengthened, with forest coverage reaching nearly 77%.

The OCOP program has made an impression with 12 characteristic products, contributing to enhancing the value of agricultural products and creating sustainable livelihoods for the people. Industry, handicrafts and services have gradually recovered and developed; the market remains stable, while night markets have created additional spaces for trade and community cultural activities.

The program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is being implemented by Cho Don commune through many creative approaches

Social security work has been carried out fully and promptly, with hundreds of Tet gift sets, allowances, rice support for hunger relief and care for children in difficult circumstances. The poverty rate has decreased to 1.46%, reflecting persistent efforts in the journey toward multidimensional poverty reduction. One of the most notable highlights in this area is the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, with 106 houses completed at a total cost of nearly VND 6 billion. In her new house still scented with fresh paint, Ms. Ma Thi Ngo from Na Man village, Cho Don commune, could not hide her emotion: “I sincerely thank the Party, the State and the local authorities for caring and helping my family have a new home—not only to shelter us from sun and rain, but also to give us peace of mind to work, improve our lives and welcome the Lunar New Year with more complete joy”.

Education and healthcare continue to receive attention. Schools maintain national standard status, and the commune health station upholds the national criteria for commune-level healthcare. Cultural life remains vibrant, with 34 cultural, artistic and sports clubs; more than 97% of households have achieved the title of “Cultural family”, forming a solid spiritual foundation for the community after the merger.

Cho Don Commune Public Administrative Service Center receiving and resolving administrative procedures for citizens

Cho Don Commune Public Administrative Service Center has become a “fulcrum” for citizens in resolving administrative procedures. The rate of dossier digitization reached nearly 99%, online payment dossiers reached over 96%; the service index for people and enterprises achieved excellent ranking, ranked 13/92 communes and wards in the entire province. Those figures show that digital transformation is truly entering life, helping to shorten the distance between the government and the People.

Assessing the initial post-merger period, Trieu Huy Chung, Secretary of the Cho Don Commune Party Committee, affirmed that this is the time to strongly innovate leadership thinking, improve management validity, build a streamlined apparatus close to the people, take the People's satisfaction as a measure, and create a solid foundation for stable and long-term local development.

2025 closed with the mark of strong transformation of Cho Don Commune after the merger - an important stepping stone in the development journey ahead. On the foundation of solidarity, innovation, the joint efforts of the People, and the determination of the entire political system, Cho Don Commune aims for 2026 to be a year of breakthrough acceleration, completing key objectives, and reaching towards a new rich, beautiful, and civilized appearance.
