In just a few days, on March 15, 2026, voters nationwide will participate in the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term. Preparations for election day were carried out early in Thanh Mai commune
In Thanh Mai commune, the atmosphere in anticipation of the “great festival of the entire nation” has been vibrant and proactive from an early stage. The local Party committees and authorities have actively implemented tasks in a coordinated manner, establishing six Election Boards with 66 members and 11 Polling Teams comprising 165 members, ready to serve the People in casting their ballots. At the second consultation conference, the commune agreed on a preliminary list of 34 candidates for the commune-level People’s Council for the 2026–2031 term, ensuring a reasonable structure in terms of female candidates, young candidates, non-Party candidates and ethnic minority candidates. The voters’ list has been publicly posted at 11 polling stations; the process of collecting comments and votes of confidence from voters at their place of residence has been conducted democratically, receiving broad consensus. At the same time, propaganda work, security and order assurance and facility preparations are being actively finalized, creating an atmosphere of excitement and readiness for this major event of the entire People.
Comrade Ha Tien Cuong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Thanh Mai commune, stated: The election is not only the responsibility of the Election Committee but also of the entire political system. The commune Party Committee has determined to provide comprehensive and consistent leadership from preparation, consultation, nomination, communication and security assurance to the organization of election day. Each cadre and Party member must uphold a strong sense of responsibility and exemplary conduct so that the election truly becomes a festival of the People.
The posting of voters’ lists has been completed promptly by localities to enable the People to monitor and review the information
Along with Thanh Mai commune, in Phu Binh commune, the commune Election Committee has posted the list of 39 candidates for the commune-level People’s Council and completed the posting of the voters’ list with more than 31,600 voters. Polling stations have been reviewed in terms of facilities and equipment, while close coordination with relevant forces has been maintained to ensure security, social order and safety throughout the preparation and organization of the election.
In many highland areas of Thai Nguyen province, where a large number of ethnic minority people reside, local Party committees and authorities have adopted diverse communication methods. The aim is to ensure that important information related to the Election reaches residents effectively so that they understand, build consensus and exercise their rights and obligations.
As a hamlet where the majority of voters are Hmong ethnic people, Dong Tam hamlet, Phu Luong Commune, has chosen appropriate propaganda forms, ensuring information reaches every household. Mr. Duong Van Phong, Secretary of the Dong Tam Hamlet Party Cell, said: The people always strictly comply with the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. Through previous elections, the rate of voters participating in voting has been high. For this Election, the hamlet has intensified communication through Zalo groups, the grassroots loudspeaker system and community meetings.
