Provincial leaders visit and present gifts for "Tet for the Poor Peak Week 2026”
In the atmosphere of the whole country celebrating the success of the 14th National Party Congress; towards the 96th anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026) and preparing to welcome the nation's traditional Tet, on the morning of January 27, working delegations of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee visited and presented gifts to poor households, policy families and students with difficult circumstances in the province on the occasion of the "Tet for the Poor Peak Week 2026".

* The Working Delegation led by Comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Member of the Party Central Executive Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, visited and presented gifts to poor households, policy families and social protection beneficiaries in Van Lang Commune. Participating in the Delegation were Comrade Vu Duy Hoang, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; and Comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee.

After the merger, Van Lang Commune has gradually stabilized its organizational apparatus, synchronously deployed socio-economic development tasks and achieved many positive results in social security work. In 2025, the commune fully and promptly implemented regimes and policies for meritorious people and social protection beneficiaries; organized visits and gift giving to policy families with a total funding of VND 33 million; paid regular allowances to 431 subjects. Poverty reduction work was deployed effectively, with 16 households escaping poverty in the commune; policy credit programs were implemented with a total outstanding debt of over VND 107 billion, contributing to creating livelihoods and improving income for people.

Speaking at the Program, Comrade Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Trinh Xuan Truong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the Party committee and authorities of Van Lang Commune in socio-economic development and ensuring social security after the merger. He affirmed that the province always pays attention to economic development associated with social security, especially for communes still facing difficulties, policy families, poor households and near-poor households. In the coming time, the province will continue to prioritize investment resources for transport infrastructure, health, education and economic development programs to improve the material and spiritual life of the People.

On this occasion, the Working Delegation presented 100 gift sets to poor and near-poor households in the commune, each worth VND 1.2 million; presented 20 gift sets to primary school students with difficult circumstances and 20 bicycles to secondary school students, contributing to encouraging families and students to welcome a joyful and warm Tet.

The Delegation visited and presented gratitude gifts to policy families in Xuan Duong Commune, including: Mr. Lo Minh Khoa, born in 1958, sick soldier with a bodily injury rate of 61%; Mr. Lo Xuan Viet, born in 1947, resistance activist infected with toxic chemicals with a bodily injury rate of 58%. On this occasion, at the Cultural House of Xuan Duong Commune, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the Working Delegation presented 100 gift sets to poor and near-poor households of Xuan Duong Commune, each worth VND 1 million 200 thousand; and presented 15 bicycles to 15 students from poor and near-poor households with difficult circumstances in Xuan Duong Commune.

Speaking at the Program, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized: Thai Nguyen province always determines that caring for the People's lives, especially the poor, vulnerable people, ethnic minority areas and difficult areas is both an important political task and a deep responsibility, affection and morality of the Party Committee, administration and the entire political system. Along with focusing on socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security, the province always dedicates special attention to social security work and sustainable poverty reduction, with the spirit of “leaving no one behind”, especially every time Tet comes and Spring arrives. He sent greetings and hoped that the people of Xuan Duong Commune would always comply well with the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, continue to strive to rise in life to escape poverty; and together with the local Party committee and authorities strive to build increasingly rich and beautiful villages and homeland.

Participating in the Delegation were representatives of provincial departments, boards, branches and unions.

Than Sa Commune has 11 hamlets with 04 main ethnic groups including Tay, Nung, Dao and Hmong. As a highland commune facing many difficulties, with a poverty rate of 19.23% and near-poor rate of 20%, the lives of a portion of the People are not yet stable, frequently affected by natural disasters and epidemics, especially Typhoon No. 11 in 2025 causing heavy damage to housing, assets and livelihoods of the people.

Speaking at the Program, the Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: Caring for the poor is both a political task of the province and promotes the fine traditions of the nation; the province always pays attention to social security issues, especially every time Tet comes and spring arrives with the spirit of “leaving no one behind”. Simultaneously, acknowledging the results and efforts of the Party committee, authorities and People of Than Sa Commune in poverty reduction and gradual economic development. He hoped that benefactors and enterprises would continue to pay attention to poor and near-poor households in the commune; and that the people would continue to promote the spirit of solidarity, rise out of poverty, be creative in production labor and together build an increasingly developed homeland.

On this occasion, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee, Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh presented 60 gift sets to 60 poor and near-poor households; each worth VND 1.2 million; presented 15 bicycles to students from poor and near-poor households studying at Than Sa and Thuong Nung Ethnic Minority Semi-boarding Secondary Schools. Thang Long Exploitable Mineral and DTXD Joint Stock Company, an enterprise operating in the area, presented 2,000 gift sets to all households in the commune, worth VND 1 billion and presented 11 computer sets to 11 hamlets in the commune.

Immediately after the program, Comrade Nguyen Dang Binh, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, visited and presented gifts to the elderly in the commune.

The Working Delegation led by Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, attended and presented gifts for the “Tet for the Poor Peak Week” Program 2026 in Tan Khanh Commune. Attendees included Comrade Dong Van Luu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee as well as representatives of several provincial departments, branches and units. 

In recent times, especially during Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026, Tan Khanh Commune has focused on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of solutions to ensure social security and care for the People's lives, especially for policy beneficiaries, poor households, near-poor households and vulnerable people in the area. Currently, the entire commune has 145 poor households, 211 near-poor households; the commune is managing and implementing preferential policies for 256 people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of meritorious people and relatives of martyrs.

Speaking at the Program, Comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, affirmed: Activities caring for social security and sustainable poverty reduction are major, cross-cutting guidelines of the Party and State; simultaneously being regular tasks of Party committees and authorities at all levels. The organization of the “Tet for the Poor” Peak Week in Thai Nguyen province is not only a Tet support activity but also an occasion to spread the spirit of community responsibility to care so that everyone and every home has Tet, “leaving no one behind”. He also requested Tan Khanh Commune to focus on leading and directing the synchronous implementation of solutions to support livelihoods and sustainable poverty reduction, in which paying attention to vocational training, job connection; effectively exploiting local potentials and advantages to promote production development and increase income for the People.

The Delegation also visited and presented gifts to Ms. Ha Thi Ban, an elderly person (100 years old) in Ke hamlet.

At the headquarters of the People's Committee of Tran Phu Commune, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee, Comrade Dinh Quang Tuyen presented 60 gift sets to poor households and 15 bicycles to students with difficult circumstances in the commune. On this occasion, the Working Delegation also visited and presented gifts to policy families in the commune, including: Mr. Ly Ngoc Viet, war invalid 23% (Khu Cho village); Ms. Dinh Thi Doi, 95 years old (Na Deng village); Mr. Nong Van Kim, war invalid 65% and Mr. Ly Van Thang, sick soldier 61% (Na A village).

At the families visited, on behalf of the Working Delegation, the Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented provincial gifts, inquired after their health and life and expressed happiness that families of people with meritorious services to the revolution and policy beneficiaries always receive attention and responsible care from local Party committees, authorities, unions and the protection of relatives and neighbors. He affirmed that in recent years, the Party, State and localities have always paid attention to directing the good implementation of “Gratitude and Remembrance Activities”, caring for policy families, meritorious people and the elderly. Specifically in Thai Nguyen province, every time Tet comes and Spring arrives, Party committees, authorities and the Fatherland Front organize peak periods with many practical activities, dedicating the best attention to care for and encourage policy families, meritorious people and poor households in the area. On the occasion of the new year, he wished families a traditional national Tet with much joy and happiness; continuing to promote revolutionary traditions, set bright examples and encourage children and grandchildren to actively work, study and serve, contributing to building an increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized homeland.

Van Lang Commune has 19 villages, consisting of 5 ethnic groups: Kinh, Tay, Nung, Hmong and Dao living together. The whole commune currently has 721 poor and near-poor households. In 2025, social security work in the commune was paid attention to and deployed synchronously, promptly and for the right subjects. Policies on regular allowances, unexpected support, caring for the lives of meritorious people, social protection beneficiaries, poor households and near-poor households were fully implemented, contributing to stabilizing the People's lives, especially during holidays and Tet.

These are practical gifts, not only providing material support but also being a source of spiritual encouragement helping people be more confident to rise in life, preparing to welcome the traditional national Tet warmly and joyfully. Simultaneously, demonstrating the concern of Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations for social security work and caring for the People's lives.

Phuong Tien Commune was established based on the merger of three former communes: Phuong Tien, Tan Duong and Tan Thinh. Currently, the whole commune has 100 poor households, accounting for 3.16% and 87 near-poor households, accounting for 2.75%. In recent times, Phuong Tien Commune has synchronously deployed solutions to ensure social security, caring for the People's lives, especially policy beneficiaries, poor households, near-poor households and vulnerable people in the area. At the Program, the Working Delegation presented 60 gift sets to poor and near-poor households in the commune.

On this occasion, the Working Delegation visited and presented gifts to several families of people with meritorious services to the revolution, relatives of martyrs and the elderly in the commune, including: Mr. Ha Van Tien (born in 1962), 33% war invalid, residing in Cooc hamlet; Mr. Luong Van Dao (born in 1956), resistance activist infected with toxic chemicals 61%, residing in Loi B hamlet; Mr. Ma Duc Thanh (born in 1953), resistance activist infected with toxic chemicals 41%, residing in Lang Da hamlet; Ms. Dang Thi Mui (born in 1923), elderly person 103 years old, residing in Na Lang hamlet.
