The project has a total length of about 15.9 km, with an estimated total investment of VND 8,512 billion, using capital sources from the provincial budget and Central budget support, with the Provincial Traffic and Agriculture Construction Investment Project Management Board acting as the investor. The construction will be carried out over 2 years (2026 - 2027). This is phase 1 of implementing the System of flood control works in the provincial center area. In phase 2, the province advocates building flood detention reservoirs in the northern area of the province and implementing the Ta Cau dike route project. The works aim to ensure the requirements of flood prevention, control and drainage, combined with building traffic roads and effectively exploiting land, thereby promoting the province's socio-economic development.

Previously, implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Traffic and Agriculture Construction Investment Project Management Board coordinated with consulting units including Thuy Loi University, the Institute of Water Resources Planning and the Vietnam Academy for Water Resources to organize the compilation and completion of project dossiers and simultaneously sought the consensus opinions of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment to serve as a basis for implementation. Parallel to that, the Board also coordinated with the Provincial Land Fund Development Center, the Land Registration Office and People's Committees of wards: Phan Dinh Phung, Quan Trieu and Gia Sang to implement the review and determination of affected land area and assets, resettlement needs and cost estimation for compensation and site clearance to serve the project implementation.

The implementation of the project construction not only contributes to improving natural disaster prevention and control capacity and protecting the provincial center area but also creates more urban development space and step by step perfects infrastructure, meeting the development requirements of Thai Nguyen province in the new period.
