As science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation increasingly become important drivers of growth, AI is developing rapidly and being widely applied in socio-economic activities. For businesses, AI has become a practical tool that helps renew governance methods, optimize production and business processes, improve productivity, cut costs, and expand access to customers and markets.

In Thai Nguyen, the community of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, cooperatives, and business households plays an important role in economic development, job creation, and ensuring social security. However, the process of digital transformation and access to new technologies, especially AI, still poses considerable challenges in terms of human resources, digital skills, accessibility, and investment capacity.

The “Vietnamese MSMEs Breakthrough with Artificial Intelligence” Project is being implemented with a focus on hands-on AI training, helping businesses not only gain access to knowledge but also learn how to select, deploy, and utilize AI tools suited to their actual needs. In Vietnam, the Project aims to train 18,700 MSMEs, of which 250 enterprises will receive direct training; it will also develop localized training content and integrate training materials into government-supported platforms.

As the partner implementing the Project in Vietnam, ICTU is leveraging its strengths in training, research, and business connections to bring AI programs closer to the MSME community. The goal is not only to help businesses learn to use AI but also to enhance their ability to evaluate, select, and apply technology to increase productivity, reduce costs, and create new value.

Immediately after the launch ceremony, 250 enterprises, cooperatives, and business households took part in an AI training course taught directly by the Project's core team of trainers. The content focused on AI skills and tools that can be applied immediately in daily management, business, and operations.
