Under the direction of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Thai Nguyen province, recently, the Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment coordinated with Thanh Cong Trading and Business Joint Stock Company to deploy a program supporting LH12 rice variety for people in Tan Ky and Kha Son communes, aiming to overcome the consequences of natural disasters and soon stabilize production.

According to the plan, the total amount of seeds supported is 3 tons of LH12 rice, ensuring cultivation of 55 hectares according to technical processes. In which, Kha Son commune is supported with 1.9 tons, corresponding to a scale of 35 hectares; Tan Ky commune is supported with 1.1 tons, corresponding to a scale of 20 hectares.

At the support delivery points, representatives of the Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment, local leaders and a large number of farmers attended. Along with distributing seeds, the Center sent working groups and technical officers directly to the grassroots level to guide cultivation techniques, ensuring that the seed source reaches the right subjects, at the right seasonal time and is used effectively by the people.

Supporting LH12 rice variety - one of the varieties with good resistance and stable yield - is assessed as a practical and timely solution in the context that people have just experienced great damage due to storms and floods.
