As the center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, Thai Nguyen has many favorable conditions for developing sports, especially football. Although it does not yet have a professional men's football club, football training for young players has long received the province's attention over many years, laying the foundation for long-term development. Stemming from the People's aspiration for the return of professional football to the homeland of tea, provincial leaders of Thai Nguyen have always paid close attention and mobilized resources to invest in the king of sports. During the 2020 - 2025 term, the province invested in building the new Thai Nguyen Stadium with a capacity of 22,000 seats, the most modern stadium in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region. Along with this, hosting women's football tournaments within the national competition system, and especially the Quadrangular Tournament and the international friendly match between the Vietnam National Team and the Myanmar National Team, created strong spillover effects, bringing football life back to a vibrant state in the province.

To manage and operate FC Thai Nguyen in a professional manner, Thai Nguyen Football Joint Stock Company was established. Preparations for the first season are currently being carried out swiftly, in a coordinated manner, and professionally. The headquarters of FC Thai Nguyen is located in Go Moc Hamlet, not far from Thai Nguyen Stadium, and has been invested with a training ground system, a fitness room, a swimming pool, and modern recovery equipment, meeting the requirements for high-intensity training and competition in professional football. According to its development direction, by 2028, FC Thai Nguyen aims to be among the Top 4 of the National First Division Football Championship, creating a foundation to earn promotion to V.League 1 in 2029.

Speaking at the Meeting Program, Comrade Vuong Quoc Tuan, Member of the Party Central Executive Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that Thai Nguyen football has a glorious tradition and has always received the enthusiastic attention, support, and cheering of the People in the province. This is a great source of encouragement for FC Thai Nguyen. He affirmed that building a professional football club has long been the aspiration of fans and the People of Thai Nguyen. On behalf of provincial leadership, he expressed sincere gratitude for T&T Group's continued attention and support for Thai Nguyen football in recent times. The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that the Club's Board of Directors, Coaching Board, and members move swiftly to stabilize accommodation and living arrangements, build disciplined habits and order, and forge a united and strong collective; while also regularly strengthening the squad, renewing and improving the quality of coaching, and perfecting technique and tactics, aiming for the highest competitive spirit right from the National First Division Football Championship.

He emphasized that, alongside these favorable beginnings, the Club needs to continue maintaining its achievements, gradually affirming its standing, and working toward higher goals of victory in the future. He expressed the hope that the business community, entrepreneurs, and the entire People of the province will continue to pay attention to, cheer for, encourage, and partner with the Club so that Thai Nguyen football develops sustainably, meeting the trust and expectations of fans. He assigned the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Department of Finance to continue actively advising on the development of the sports movement in general and the football movement in particular.
