The project is presided over by the University of Agriculture and Forestry, coordinated for deployment by the Provincial Center for Agricultural Extension and Environment, implemented in the 2025 - 2027 period with a scale of 8,000 H'Mong chickens. In 2025, the Project was implemented in Dong Hy commune with 02 participating households in the direction of farm-scale production. Training activities, study tours and technical transfer sessions were fully organized, ensuring compliance with the agreed schedule according to the contract signed between units.

Delegates discussing and providing feedback to improve model implementation effectiveness

After 5 months of implementation, the model achieved many outstanding results: Survival rate reached 95.44%; average weight was 1.62 kg per chicken; feed conversion ratio (FCR) reached 3.11. Notably, 100% of households applied waste treatment techniques to produce fertilizer, contributing to improved livestock environment. Economic efficiency increased by 16.71% compared to traditional farming; the model was expanded by an additional 2,000 chickens, achieving a diffusion rate of 25%. These results demonstrate that the model is fully suitable, feasible and holds strong potential for sustainable development in the locality.

The Project not only contributes to conserving and promoting the valuable genetic resources of H’Mong chicken but also opens up opportunities to build the brand of the specialty black-bone, black-meat chicken, creating stable livelihoods and fostering the development of commercial agriculture in Northern mountainous provinces.
