According to the Resolution, the Project has a total planned length of approximately 120 km, passing through the territories of two provinces, Thai Nguyen and Lang Son. Specifically, the section traversing Lang Son province spans approximately 70 km and is to be developed as a four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h; the section crossing rugged mountainous terrain is designed at 80 km/h. The roadbed cross-section width ranges from 22 m to 24.75 m.

The section traversing Thai Nguyen province spans approximately 50 km and is to be developed as a four-lane expressway with a design speed of 100 km/h and a roadbed cross-section width of 24.75 m. The Project is expected to be implemented during the 2026 - 2030 period.

Also pursuant to the Resolution, Thai Nguyen Province People’s Committee is responsible for organizing the implementation of the Project in strict compliance with the law. The Standing Board of the Provincial People’s Council, the Committees of the Provincial People’s Council, the Delegations of the Provincial People’s Council and individual delegates of the Provincial People’s Council are tasked with overseeing the implementation of the Resolution.

The development of the Lang Son - Thai Nguyen Expressway is expected to contribute to completing the transportation network linking the midland and northern mountainous region with major economic corridors, thereby driving socio-economic development across localities in the region.
