Completing site handover of the entire Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway before June 15, 2026
On the afternoon of May 13, Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a meeting to review progress and conduct a field inspection of the site clearance work for the Cho Moi - Bac Kan Route Construction Investment Project. Also attending the meeting were leaders of several related departments, sectors, units, and localities.
Scene of the meeting
The Cho Moi - Bac Kan expressway route has a total length of over 28 km, passing through the territories of Thanh Thinh commune, Thanh Mai commune, and Bac Kan ward. Up to the present time, Bac Kan ward and Thanh Mai commune have completed site clearance work and handed the site over to contractors to deploy construction. Particularly for the section passing through Thanh Thinh commune, by the end of May 12, 2026, the locality had handed over to the investor 104.26 out of 110.5 hectares of recovered land area. Currently, Thanh Thinh Commune People’s Committee is coordinating with Regional Branch VI of the Land Fund Development Center to conduct outreach to and mobilize the remaining 20 households to accept their site clearance compensation payments, agree with the relocation plan, and hand over the site to the contractor to deploy road construction. For households agreeing to move to the resettlement area, the investor has provided solutions to support electricity and water usage during the people’s housing construction process. For households arranging temporary accommodation themselves and needing to move their old houses, the locality has also prepared a plan to mobilize forces to support dismantling and moving houses, while simultaneously providing machinery to level the ground to stabilize their temporary residence.

Mr. Ha Duc Duc, Chairman of Thanh Thinh Commune People's Committee, speaks at the meeting
At the working session, units reported on difficulties and obstacles during the implementation of compensation, support, and resettlement work. At the same time, they proposed solutions to accelerate the site handover progress serving project construction, such as: arranging temporary accommodation for households during the reconstruction of houses in the resettlement area; and providing partial support regarding human resources and equipment to help households move and dismantle houses while building in the resettlement area...
Comrade Nong Quang Nhat, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, speaks at the meeting
Delivering directing remarks at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nong Quang Nhat emphasized that the Cho Moi - Bac Kan Route Construction Investment Project is significantly behind schedule compared to the plan. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee directed related departments, sectors, and localities to intensively focus on site clearance work and strengthen public outreach, mobilization, and dialogue with residents to foster community consensus. The contractor is required to concentrate machinery, equipment, and human resources, with a commitment to completing the resettlement area in Thanh Thinh commune before May 30, 2026. Thanh Thinh commune must have a plan to resolve obstacles for each household and finish the site handover work for the entire route before June 15, 2026, to synchronously deploy construction of the Project, ensuring the project remains on schedule.
