1. Total retail sales of goods and services for social consumption

     Commercial and service activities in general in 2020 were also directly affected by the Covid-19 epidemic when for many consecutive months, they decreased sharply compared to the same period. However, due to the good work of disease prevention and the application of many effective measures to stimulate consumption in combination with the year-end shopping "season", the people's demand for shopping and consumption has increased again, contribute to regaining the growth momentum of the service sector in general.

     Total retail sales of goods and services for social consumption in 2020 reached over 40 trillion VND, increased by 3.8% compared to the same period (if excluding the price factor, the total retail sales and revenue of social consumption services in 2020 decreased by 0.2% compared to 2019). In which, the state economic sector was estimated at 2 trillion VND, increased by 6% compared to the same period; the non-state economic sector was estimated at 37.9 trillion VND (accounting for 94.7% of the total), increased by 3.7% compared to the same period; the foreign-invested sector reached 88.7 billion VND, decreased by 20.1%.

2. Export, import

     Import and export activities are strongly affected by the Covid-19 epidemic when they were limited on both the supply side and the demand side. Raw materials for production were limited; the demand for products in markets, especially major trading partners such as the US, EU, China, and Korea, has been seriously reduced. Although in the third and fourth quarters, import and export activities showed signs of recovery, but for the whole year, export and import values still decreased compared to the same period.

     Total export value in 2020 reached 24.4 billion USD, decreased by 11.9% compared to the same period; in which, the foreign-invested economic sector was estimated at 24 billion USD (accounting for 98.1% of total export value), decreased by11.7% compared to the same period; local exports were 137 million USD, decreased by 21.8% compared to 2019.

     The group of export products in 2020 accounting for a large proportion of the group of phones, tablets and other electronics, estimated at 23.5 billion USD (accounting for 94.6% of the total export value in the province), decreased by 9.8% compared to the same period; in which, smartphones and tablets exported about 83.4 million products with a value of 13.6 billion USD, decreased by 28.5% in volume and 38.2% in value; electronic components and other electronic products reached 9.9 billion USD, 2.5 times higher than the same period.

      The group of products in 2020 with high export growth rate compared to the same period last year are: paper and paper products reached 3.5 million USD, increased by 54.6% compared to the same period... Due to the impact of the epidemic Due to the Covid-19 disease, the consumption demand of partner countries decreased sharply, so many groups of export products in 2020 decreased compared to 2019 such as: iron and steel products reached 68.7 million USD, decreased by 16.4% ; garment products reached 32.3 million USD, decreased by 15.1%; non-ferrous metals and non-ferrous metal concentrates reached 228.1 million USD, decreased by 2.1%; tea of all kinds exported 875 tons with a value of 1.4 million USD, decreased by 42.3% in volume and 43.2% in value…

     The total value of imported goods in the area in 2020 was estimated at 14.5 billion USD, decreased by 7.3% over the same period. In which, the foreign-invested economic sector was estimated at 14.3 billion USD, decreased by 7% over the same period and accounting for 98.7% of the total import value.

      Almost all major import products in 2020 decreased year-on-year. Specifically, raw materials for animal feed processing reached 33.5 million USD, decreased by 19.3%; electronic materials and components reached 14 billion USD, decreased by 4.2%; iron and steel products reached USD 27.4 million, decreased by 29.8%; fabrics and textile raw materials and accessories reached USD 128.9 million, decreased by 23.8%; plastic (plastic) raw materials reached 91.8 million USD, decreased by 38%; machinery, equipment, tools and spare parts reached 63.4 million USD, decreased by 45.8% compared to the same period... Particularly, paper group reached 7.2 million USD, increased by 11.6% compared to the same period.

3. Tourism

     In 2020, the number of visitors served by accommodation establishments reached 1.006 thousand turns of people, a decrease of 32.7% compared to 2019. The number of visitors served by travel facilities reached 6.7 thousand turns of people, equaling 46.2% in the same period.
