Scene of the Workshop

The workshop was attended by leadership representatives of departments and branches of Thai Nguyen province; leading experts and scientists such as Ms. Vo Hoa Binh, Director of the Center for Human Potential Research; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Ninh - who published 25 species of Vietnamese golden camellia tea; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van On from Hanoi University of Pharmacy; Assoc. Prof. Ta Thu Thuy, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology, Hanoi Open University; Master Pham Thi Ly, Farmer’s Scientist, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Federation of Organic Agriculture and Medicinal Plant Cooperatives. The Workshop also recorded the participation of the District Party Standing Committee, Standing Committee of the District People's Council, leadership of the District People's Committee along with delegates including leaders of agencies and units, leadership of the District Traditional Medicine Association, leaders of communes and towns; representatives of enterprises, cooperatives and local residents.

The presentations at the Workshop focused on contents including the medical value and commercial potential of native golden camellia tea; the role of indigenous knowledge and communities in medicinal plant conservation; innovative models for sustainable development in ethnic minority mountainous regions and application potential in Vo Nhai District; results of organic microbial medicinal plant cultivation and the role of community participation in production chain linkage in Trang Xa Commune and opportunities to expand the cosmetics market from medicinal plants...

In particular, the Workshop emphasized the role of innovation in connecting knowledge - nature - community, contributing to forming healing spaces associated with ecological tourism and local economic development.
