Nearly 300 delegates and trainees receive training in tourism accommodation front desk and housekeeping operations at tourist accommodation facilities

On November 1 morning, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of a training course for front desk and housekeeping staff in tourist accommodation facilities in Thai Nguyen province. Nearly 300 participants, including managers, department heads and staff members from the reception and housekeeping departments, who are currently working at tourist accommodation facilities within the province, attended the training course.

In recent years, Party committees and government authorities at all levels have shown a keen interest in leading and directing the development of tourism. As a result, tourism in Thai Nguyen has witnessed certain levels of development, achieving fairly stable and significant growth, contributing substantially to the province's socio-economic development and providing stable employment and income for thousands of workers in the province. Additionally, both the quantity and quality of the workforce in the tourism sector of Thai Nguyen have seen notable development.

During the training program, participants were disseminated on the legal regulations related to tourism and relevant state management documents. They were guided through the provisions governing accommodation businesses according to Decree No. 96/2016/ND-CP and Decree No. 56/2023/ND-CP. The program also provided an overview of the new phase of tourism development in Vietnam, the current situation and the development direction of tourism in Thai Nguyen. Additionally, the attendees received instruction from Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hien, a lecturer at the Hanoi College of Tourism, on how to communicate and behave as service staff in accommodation facilities, presenting a professional image of service employees in these establishments, as well as the daily tasks of accommodation service staff.

Officials of the Police Department for Administrative Management of Social Order (Provincial Police) provided information about regulations on ensuring security and order in accommodation business;

The training program aims to enhance the fundamental knowledge of front desk and housekeeping tasks for tourist accommodation facilities, standardize skills and improve the expertise of the reception and housekeeping departments, as well as the personnel directly serving tourists. It contributes to the development of a professional tourism workforce, meeting the requirements of innovation and tourism growth in Thai Nguyen province.

The training will be held in 3 days (from November 1 to 3, 2023). After sharing fundamental theoretical knowledge, trainees will practice welcoming guests, receiving guest requests and practicing cleaning guest rooms, handling situations when working in each operation right at the hotel where the training is conducted.
