Along with the nationwide women's rising efforts, their active contributions to social activities and the maintenance of their influence across various sectors such as involvement in state management, participation in poverty alleviation and the establishment of happy and well-fed families, women in Thai Nguyen province have also achieved significant accomplishments. Upholding the fine traditions of Vietnamese women and the noble revolutionary traditions of their homeland, the various strata of women in Thai Nguyen province have consistently emphasized the spirit of unity, self-reliance, resilience and a proactive approach in implementing patriotic movements and campaigns linked to local political tasks.
With the attention of the Party committees at all levels, government authorities and the political system, combined with the efforts of women, gender equality and women's work in the province have achieved significant accomplishments in recent times. The proportion of women participating in party committees and holding key positions at various levels and sectors is increasing. For the first time, Thai Nguyen province has a female Provincial Party Secretary and the Provincial People's Council is led by a female leader. The number of female leaders and managers in government agencies and units, especially at the head and deputy head levels, is on the rise.

Rewarding Heads of Women’s Union branches 2023
With over 300,000 members belonging to 14 focal units, 189 Union bases and 12 affiliated establishments, for the past years, the women's movement in the province has made new developments, the Union’s organizations have constantly grown, making important contributions to the construction and development of Thai Nguyen province and the national women's movement.
With the motto "Strategic orientation by Central level, Creative application by Provincial level, grassroots support by District level, firmly grasping of Union members by Commune level and deep understanding of women by Union branches", the provincial Women's Union (WU) has directed women's union branches at all levels within the province to apply innovative approaches, continuously update their activities and focus on grassroots. The union's team of dedicated officials has been actively responsible, effectively implementing and successfully accomplishing all assigned tasks, effectively playing a core role in mobilizing and uniting women.
The implementation of the "3 together" approach with women's union members, which entails "listening to women, explaining for women and working with women," has been rigorously applied and proven effective. Women's union branches at all levels have taken proactive and concerted actions organizing numerous practical, flexible activities that align with the real situation. These efforts have made a significant contribution to the realization of the Party's directives, the state's legal policies and the attainment of socio-economic development goals in the province.
The Women's Union has taken a proactive approach to mobilize and engage women in various competitive movements and campaigns related to the execution of local political tasks. They have actively applied information technology and undertaken digital transformation. The union has also proactively conducted social monitoring and critique activities, participated in contributing ideas for Party building and government construction, enhanced the effectiveness of state management participation and continuously improved their role in caring for, representing and safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of women. The union is also involved in addressing social issues related to women and supports comprehensive development for women and children through various innovative and flexible methods...
The program of exchanging plastic waste for trees organized by the Provincial Women's Union
In the first 9 months of 2023 alone, women's unions at various levels have distributed more than 500 Tet gifts valued at over VND 600 million to the people, families of policy beneficiaries and impoverished households. They have effectively implemented innovative initiatives in line with the "5 No, 3 Clean" campaign, making a substantial contribution to the Program for building new rural areas, model new rural areas and advanced new rural areas at the local level. With their compassionate and altruistic hearts, mothers and sisters have taken care of nearly 250 orphans facing difficult circumstances within the province through the " Godmother " program.
Support activities aimed at enhancing economic empowerment for women and supporting impoverished women's union members have been a significant focus for the Women's Union. Currently, the union is managing financial resources with a total debt of over VND 3 trillion, benefiting more than 60,000 women's union members who have taken loans. This provided opportunities for many women to successfully start their businesses, while others have found stable employment and income. In addition, by organizing events such as expos and connecting safe agricultural product consumption for women, young ethnic minority women and those in mountainous areas, the union has created a platform for exchange and connection, introducing economic development support models and community integration for victims of human trafficking through more than 70 booths. This has attracted active participation from a diverse group of women's union members and the general population... Many programs and schemes to support women's entrepreneurship, economic development and the implementation of gender equality policies, all for the advancement of women, are proactively pursued by the Women's Union. The union efficiently leverages resources and collaborates with local authorities to implement projects such as the Propaganda, Education, Mobilization and Support for Women to address social issues related to women for 2017 – 2027 period, Support for Women's Entrepreneurship for 2017 to 2025 period, the promotion of gender equality and the resolution of urgent issues concerning women and children.
The achieved results have facilitated women to confidently rise up in economic development, build prosperous and happy families; At the same time, they actively participate in social activities, making significant contributions to the province's reform efforts and overall development.
