In 2023, amidst unprecedented global, regional, and national challenges, the press continued to be at the forefront, effectively propagating the Party's directives, the state's legal policies, and fostering unity in the construction and defense of the homeland. Information and propaganda work in the media received attention, emphasis, depth, and positive dissemination. Particularly noteworthy was the dissemination of information regarding the Party and state leaders' foreign activities; safeguarding the Party's ideological foundation and countering erroneous and hostile viewpoints; combating corruption, negativity, and fighting against moral and political degradation, contributing significantly to shaping public opinion, fostering social consensus, and strengthening the people's trust in the Party's leadership and the state. In 2023, the levels of the Vietnam Journalists' Association comprehensively and resolutely implemented measures with significant effectiveness in building and consolidating the organization; strengthening the association's organization, timely protecting the legitimate and lawful rights of journalists and media workers; enhancing the professionalism and practicality of the association's activities at all levels, deepening its role and credibility in the press and society.

In 2024, the Vietnam Journalists' Association focused on fundamentally completing the key objectives and tasks outlined in the resolutions of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists' Association. The association at all levels continued to consolidate and build organizational systems, innovate in content and methods of operation, aiming towards the 12th National Congress of the Vietnam Journalists' Association for 2025-2030 term. There was an emphasis on propagating, disseminating, and strengthening the monitoring and supervision of the implementation of the 10 Ethics Principles for Vietnamese journalists, as well as the rules for members and journalists when engaging in social media. Particularly, there was an increase in efforts to enhance political education, professional competence, and ethical standards. |

Delivering the guiding speech, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Committee for Propaganda and Education acknowledged and highly appreciated the significant contributions of the Vietnam Journalists' Association at all levels in gathering, uniting, nurturing, and enhancing the political awareness, professional competence, and ethical standards of journalists. The Party and the state always pay attention and create favorable conditions for the press to operate, continuously improving policies, creating legal corridors, and environments for the press to unleash its creative potential and effectiveness. Comrade Nghia expressed his desire for the associations at all levels and journalists, as members, to thoroughly understand and effectively implement Directive No. 43-CT/TW, dated April 8, 2020, of the Party Central Committee on enhancing the Party's leadership over the activities of the Vietnam Journalists' Association in the new situation. He emphasized the need for media agencies to closely follow the practicalities of the country's innovation and development, current affairs, to deeply reflect and vividly depict numerous high-quality journalistic works with high combativeness and profound humanistic values. Individuals receiving Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Journalists Association
On the same afternoon, the Vietnam Journalists' Association organized a conference to review the implementation of Decision No. 558/QD-TTg by the Prime Minister and the commendation conference for 2024. For the past three years (2021 - 2023), since the implementation of Decision No. 558, journalism associations nationwide have been financially supported in their professional activities, enabling journalists to have better access to real situations and to produce more articles. Many supported journalistic works have won high prizes at local press competitions, sectorial competitions, and the National Press Awards annually.
During the conference, the Vietnam Journalists' Association awarded 18 Excellent Performance Flags and 80 Commendation Certificates to collectives and individuals who achieved outstanding results in their professional tasks and association building in 2023. The Thai Nguyen Province Journalists' Association was honored to be one of the 18 collectives awarded the Excellent Performance Flag; additionally, two individuals from Thai Nguyen Journalists’ Branch and the Journalists’ Association Office of Thai Nguyen Province were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Journalists' Association.
