Launching the "Footsteps for the Community" program in 2024

Towards the 93rd anniversary of the establishment of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (CYU) and welcoming the 7th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Youth Federation (VYF) in Thai Nguyen province for 2024 – 2029 term, on March 23, at the University of Information Technology and Communication, Thai Nguyen University, the Provincial Youth Union, and the Provincial VYF organized the program "Footsteps for the Community" in 2024.

The Standing Committee of the Provincial Youth Union presented commemorative flags to units participating in the Program

In order to concretize the movement "I love my Fatherland", the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched the program "Footsteps for the Community" since 2020 with the companionship of Saigon Thuong Tin Commercial Joint Stock Bank (Sacombank). The program is implemented nationwide to promote the "10,000 steps per day" movement, widely propagating among union members and youth about the importance of physical fitness, encouraging young people to voluntarily engage in exercise and sports to improve their health. At the same time, it aims to promote the proactive spirit and community volunteering among union members and youth in participating in the construction of Community Cultural Houses to preserve and promote the traditional cultural values of the 16 ethnic minorities in Vietnam (minority ethnic groups with fewer than 10,000 people, including the Ngai ethnic group in Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province).

For every kilometer of walking/jogging of members, youths and people, Sacombank will contribute VND 1,000 to the fund to build cultural houses

In 2024, the Program will be implemented in 2 stages, of which stage 15 of the Program will be implemented from February 25 to March 26. This is a practical and meaningful activity of members and young people nationwide to join hands to care for the livelihoods and spirit of people in ethnic minority areas, especially those with smaller populations in Vietnam. At the same time, it also aims to promote activities that accompany youth in improving their health, enhancing physical fitness, and cultural and spiritual life of the Youth Union.
