Provincial leaders, department and sector leaders, scientists, and AI experts attended the conference

The “AI for the People” program in Thai Nguyen Province has been implemented with three main goals: connecting with the knowledge base of humanity through AI; fostering a culture of “AI in the land of tea”; and shaping an “AI First” mindset.

In recent times, departments, sectors, and People's Committees of districts and cities have actively taken part, organizing implementation in a synchronized manner with tailored plans appropriate to local conditions. Press and media agencies have actively promoted the program. Notably, the online learning group “The Tea Land Learns AI” on Facebook has attracted over 4,600 members, who share knowledge, experiences, and practical applications of AI daily. The program has trained 300 core-level learners at the provincial level. These trainees have gone on to organize expanded training sessions in local areas, helping spread AI knowledge widely throughout the community. These results demonstrate the commitment and determination of the entire political system, the enthusiastic response of officials, public servants, and the people across the province, as well as the valuable contributions of experts in the technology field.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that the AI class in Thai Nguyen is not merely a training course, but is becoming a symbol of innovation, a progressive spirit, and strong determination for digital transformation. Learning is not just for the sake of knowing, but for doing, for guiding others, and for leading the community. He called on departments, agencies, localities, the business community, and the people to continue accompanying and joining hands to build Thai Nguyen into a pioneer in AI application. He also requested continued training and dissemination of the Program, completion of core-level training at the provincial level, and the establishment and maintenance of a network of community instructors in each commune and ward. At the same time, he emphasized the need to promote information and communication efforts across multiple platforms, focusing on developing concise, accessible AI training content on TikTok, Facebook, Zalo, and expanding the online learning group “The Tea Land Learns AI.” He stressed that the initial results of the “AI for the People” Program clearly demonstrate the spirit of learning, innovation, and the province’s determination to drive digital transformation. This affirms that Thai Nguyen is actively implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation, contributing to the realization of the country’s major goals in the era of rising development. He expressed his belief that, with these initial achievements, Thai Nguyen is fully capable of going further by expanding the AI diffusion model down to the grassroots level—marking a major step forward in enhancing comprehensive digital capacity and laying a solid foundation for the province’s digital transformation process.

On this occasion, one collective and two individuals were honored with Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee for their outstanding contributions to the implementation of the “AI for the People” Program in the province; additionally, 10 individuals with notable achievements received Certificates of Merit from the Department of Science and Technology.
