With the objective of investing in and developing an urban area with comprehensive technical and social infrastructure according to the planning; enhancing the efficiency of land use; contributing to urban development; meeting the housing needs of the people; and promoting the socio-economic development of the locality, the Department of Planning and Investment invites interested investors to register for Dong Cao - Tan Phu Urban Area Project (Pho Yen City).

In 2023, export in Thai Nguyen province reached USD 27 billion, a decrease compared to 2022 due to the general economic difficulties following the COVID-19 pandemic and the strategic competition instability in the global economy. Nevertheless, the province's export value remained in the Top 5 highest in the country, continuing to play a crucial role in the economy. The first quarter of 2024 saw a strong recovery and growth in Thai Nguyen's export, promising better results for the entire year.

Implemented since 2009, the Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) has gradually established itself as a tool to monitor policy implementation, accurately reflecting the people's voice on the effectiveness of government administration, state management, policy execution, and public service delivery of governments at all levels.

On June 24, a high-level delegation from the National Ethnic Affairs Commission of the People's Republic of China, led by Mr. Bianba Zhaxi, Vice Chairman of the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, visited and worked in Thai Nguyen province. The delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Vietnamese Committee for Ethnic Minorities. The socio-economy of Thai Nguyen province has achieved encouraging results in the first 6 months of 2024. This was the assessment given at the press conference on the socio-economic situation for the first 6 months of 2024, held by the provincial Statistics Office this morning (June 24). The press conference was attended by representatives from various provincial departments, sectors and media agencies.

Recently, on May 29, 2024, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam announced the estimated GRDP figures for the second quarter and the first 6 months of 2024 for Thai Nguyen province.

According to a report of Thai Nguyen Province Statistics Office, total value of goods exported in May 2024 in the province is estimated to reach USD 2.06 billion, an increase of 6.6% from the previous month and an increase of 20.7% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the domestic economic sector is estimated to achieve USD 59.2 million, an increase of 1.5% from the previous month and 2.3% from the same period last year; the foreign-invested economic sector is estimated to reach over USD 2 billion, an increase of 6.8% from the previous month and 21.4% from the same period last year.

On May 16 afternoon, Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council received and worked with the Delegation of the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore to explore investment opportunities in Thai Nguyen Province. The meeting was attended by Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam; Mr. Mai Phuoc Dung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Singapore. The meeting was also attended by leaders of a number of departments, branches, localities, units and enterprises in the province.

The Chairman of Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee has just issued a document requesting provincial departments, agencies, units and district and city People's Committees to strengthen the management and supervision of investment projects using non-budgetary funds within Thai Nguyen province.

With the goal of developing a residential area with comprehensive technical and social infrastructure to enhance land use efficiency, contribute to urban development, meet the housing needs of the population, and promote local economic and social development, the Department of Planning and Investment of Thai Nguyen Province has announced an invitation for investors to register for the implementation of the Residential Area Project No. 3 in Phu Binh District.

In April, transportation and warehousing activities in the province reached VND 663.7 billion (up 5% over the previous month and up 13.4% over the same period). In which, freight revenue was estimated at VND 467.5 billion (up 3.3% over the previous month and up 9.6% over the same period); Revenue from passenger transport was estimated at VND 128.3 billion, up 12% over the previous month and up 20.4% over the same period.

In order to further strengthen the state management for public investment projects, improve the efficiency and quality of investment projects in order to continue promoting the socio-economic development of the province, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has directed ddepartments, boards and agencies of the province; People's Committees of districts and cities; project investors using public investment funds to strengthen state management of public investment, compensation and site clearance, and ensure the progress and quality of construction works.

During the business trip to Eastern European countries, on May 2 afternoon, the Delegation of Thai Nguyen province headed by Comrade Mai Thi Thuy Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council visited and worked with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to the Slovak Republic. Mr. Nguyen Tuan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Slovakia received and worked with the Delegation.

Following the growth momentum of the first months of 2024, industrial production in Thai Nguyen province in April continued to prosper, reflected in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 7.94% over the same period and increased by 0.08% over the previous month.

In April 2024, the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Thai Nguyen Province licensed two new FDI projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 7.5 million. This raises the total number of newly licensed Investment Registration Certificates (IRC) to 8 projects, equal to 53% of the annual plan and 114.29% compared to the same period last year.
