Thai Nguyen strengthens management, promotes e-commerce development

E-commerce is experiencing robust growth in Vietnam, emerging as an inevitable trend in global trade. In Thai Nguyen province, e-commerce and digital business activities have significantly supported businesses in product distribution, met the needs of residents and fostered the development of financial services and electronic payment systems. However, this rapid growth also poses challenges in management, consumer rights protection and ensuring sustainable development.

Following Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo and public telegrams and directives of the Prime Minister related to e-commerce, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just issued a Directive requiring departments, agencies and localities to implement synchronized measures to strengthen state management and promote e-commerce development in the province.

Accordingly, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has directed departments, agencies and localities to continue disseminating and strictly enforcing legal regulations related to e-commerce, promote the application of e-commerce in production and business and enhance coordination to ensure effective management. These efforts aim to facilitate commercial activities and import-export operations while combating trade fraud, counterfeit goods and tax evasion.

The Department of Industry and Trade is tasked with presiding over propaganda activities, supporting businesses in applying e-commerce and organizing programs to enhance competitiveness and address violations in this field. At the same time, the Department will coordinate the establishment of Thai Nguyen E-Commerce Association, develop e-commerce streets or villages, formulate plans to improve the province’s e-commerce ranking indicators and promote provincial and community livestream studios to support online sales.

The Provincial Police will strengthen data integration and synchronization of resident information to support identity verification in electronic transactions, ensure security and safety in e-commerce activities and strictly address violations.

The Department of Science and Technology will lead the implementation of a program to encourage residents and businesses to use digital services with the national domain (.vn), while collaborating to compile reports and provide data related to e-commerce activities in the province.

The Department of Finance, in coordination with the Department of Science and Technology and other relevant units, will support outreach efforts to encourage businesses to register for the national domain, integrate technology platforms for online payments and e-contracts and guide the appraisal of budgets for e-commerce development programs.

The Provincial Cooperative Alliance will effectively implement provincial and community livestream studios, supporting cooperatives and individuals in livestreaming sales and participating in e-commerce platforms, including Thai Nguyen pavilion on the Shopee e-commerce platform.
