Synchronous investment in a number of infrastructure fields to facilitate the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen

To successfully achieve the GRDP growth target of 10.5% or higher in 2025, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the following years, Thai Nguyen province has determined that synchronized and modern investment in key infrastructure areas is an urgent and strategic requirement. To concretize this task, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued a Directive on breakthrough development in several important infrastructure fields.

Infrastructure projects not only facilitate economic development but also improve the quality of life for residents, promoting innovation in the management and operation of urban areas and industrial parks. Therefore, all levels, sectors and the business community need to join hands to implement the breakthrough infrastructure development goal to contribute to the overall development of Thai Nguyen province.

Accordingly, departments, sectors and localities will focus on developing 6 important infrastructure fields: Transportation infrastructure; electricity infrastructure; water supply infrastructure; drainage infrastructure; urban infrastructure and digital infrastructure.

Regarding transportation infrastructure, relevant departments, boards and sectors will: Add to the road network planning and expand several expressway routes; regularly inspect and monitor the implementation of 11 key projects currently underway; effectively exploit Hanoi - Thai Nguyen railway line...

Regarding electricity infrastructure, there is a focus on monitoring, supervising and expediting the progress of power grid projects according to the Implementation Plan for Electricity Planning VIII approved by the Prime Minister; developing plans for electricity supply in the province to ensure timely and stable provision. Accelerating the progress of electricity infrastructure projects to meet timely electricity supply for important loads related to security, defense, industrial parks and industrial clusters in the province.

Regarding water supply infrastructure: there is a focus on developing water supply networks according to the approved provincial planning, urban general planning and district construction planning to meet urban development requirements and the province's economic growth targets. Ensuring capacity, pressure and continuity in water supply; aligning with trends in green economy and circular economy development. Proactively researching and applying technology and digital transformation in water supply; improving community health and environmental protection.

Regarding drainage infrastructure, it is necessary to increase the coverage rate of the drainage system, with the rate of treated domestic wastewater reaching over 25%. Investing in the construction of centralized wastewater collection and treatment systems in the urban core areas of Song Cong City and Pho Yen City; ensuring that 100% of industrial parks and clusters, when operational, must have centralized wastewater treatment plants meeting standards.

Regarding urban infrastructure, there is a focus on developing housing projects and urban areas according to the Housing Program and Plan approved by the Provincial People's Committee for 2025. Concentrating on multi-functional urban area projects (service urban areas, ecological urban areas, resorts) around large industrial parks to attract capital flows, create housing funds and land funds for social housing development.

For digital infrastructure, the goals for 2025 include: Directing telecommunications enterprises in the province to accelerate investment in fixed broadband and mobile broadband (4G, 5G) infrastructure; promptly resolving difficulties and obstacles for telecommunications enterprises in the process of investing and developing telecommunications technical infrastructure; creating favorable conditions for implementing telecommunications infrastructure development investment in industrial parks in the province; strengthening management and directing the promotion of telecommunications technical infrastructure development in the area. By the end of 2025, Thai Nguyen aims to achieve the goal of 5G network with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps, covering 100% of universities and hospitals; 5G coverage rate in the province ≥ 60%; 100% of expressways and national highways covered with 4G/5G mobile broadband; universalizing fiber optic broadband connections to households, 100% of customers in need having access to Gbps-speed FTTH.
