On the afternoon of May 7, the Central Coordination Office for New Rural Development organized a meeting of the Central Assessment Council to evaluate Phu Binh district, Thai Nguyen province for recognition as an advanced new rural (NR) district in 2024. Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Tran Thanh Nam, Chairman of the Central Assessment Council, presided over the meeting. For Thai Nguyen province, attendees included comrade Nguyen Thanh Binh, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders from the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Department of Agriculture and Environment, NR Coordination Office and Phu Binh district.

In response to the emergence of counterfeit and low-quality products bearing Thai Nguyen tea brand, which negatively affects the reputation of local specialties, Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee has issued a directive to strengthen quality management, protect branding and consumer rights and implement tea industry development goals for 2025-2030 period.

In April 2025, investment activities from state budget sources managed by the locality and the progress of public investment disbursement in Thai Nguyen province continued to show positive changes. Along with that, many important infrastructure, urban and educational projects were inaugurated and launched, marking a new development phase for the province, especially during the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of South Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

On April 29, 2025, Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee issued Decision No. 1310/QD-UBND on approving the investment policy for Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park (IP) Infrastructure Construction and Business Project, with a total investment capital of up to VND 3,650 billion and an area of nearly 300 hectares.

Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee has just issued the Decision on approving the investment policy and approving the investor for Yen Binh 2 Industrial Park Infrastructure Construction and Business Project.

Within the framework of the activities of the "Industry and Trade - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2025" Exhibition Fair, at noon on April 29, Thai Nguyen OCOP Market Fair 2025 Livestream program was held on TikTok e-commerce platform with the participation of famous artists and actors.

In order to accelerate the implementation of industrial clusters in the province, on the afternoon of April 24, comrade Nguyen Thi Loan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired a Conference of meeting with businesses investing in industrial cluster infrastructure and enterprises investing within industrial clusters in the province to hear reports on project implementation progress. The Conference was attended by leaders from provincial departments, agencies, localities and units; representatives from a number of businesses investing in industrial cluster infrastructure and enterprises investing within industrial clusters.

On February 27, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 42/KH-UBND on the economic growth scenario for 2025 to organize implementation. However, the results achieved in the first quarter did not meet the growth targets outlined in the Plan and scenario. Given new international and domestic developments, the Provincial People's Committee has recently issued an Economic Growth Scenario Plan 2025 for Thai Nguyen province (adjusted in April 2025) as the basis for departments, sectors, units and localities to implement.

To successfully achieve the GRDP growth target of 10.5% or higher in 2025, creating a foundation for rapid and sustainable development in the following years, Thai Nguyen province has determined that synchronized and modern investment in key infrastructure areas is an urgent and strategic requirement. To concretize this task, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has issued a Directive on breakthrough development in several important infrastructure fields.

Currently, in Thai Nguyen province, many key transportation projects with significant regional connection and linkage are being actively implemented. Once completed, these will make an important contribution to creating an attractive investment environment to draw investors.

In order to further accelerate compensation, resettlement support and enhance security maintenance in project implementation areas as well as timely deliver clear ground to investors for project deployment in the province, the Provincial People's Committee has recently issued an implementation organization plan, assigned specific tasks and established completion deadlines for each type of project.

Song Cong II Industrial Park (IP) - Phase 2, in Thai Nguyen province is emerging as an ideal destination for both domestic and foreign investors. With its strategic location, synchronized infrastructure, abundant human resources and particularly attractive incentive policies, this IP promises to create powerful development opportunities for businesses, especially in manufacturing, high technology and logistics industries.

E-commerce is experiencing robust growth in Vietnam, emerging as an inevitable trend in global trade. In Thai Nguyen province, e-commerce and digital business activities have significantly supported businesses in product distribution, met the needs of residents and fostered the development of financial services and electronic payment systems. However, this rapid growth also poses challenges in management, consumer rights protection and ensuring sustainable development.

In 2025, Thai Nguyen province strives to achieve total social development investment capital of VND 104.1 trillion, meeting the resources to promote economic growth of 10.5% or more. To achieve this goal, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee has issued a Directive requiring heads of departments, agencies and Chairmen of District and City People’s Committees to urgently and comprehensively implement key tasks and solutions.

Following the Ministry of Finance's directive on guiding business registration in case of administrative boundary change, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance and District and City People's Committees to direct business registration agencies; coordinate with the Association, provincial business associations; Provincial Cooperative Alliance to inform businesses, business households, cooperatives, cooperative unions and cooperative groups in the province about the Ministry's policy.

In which, 9 units have not yet disbursed any funds, while 7 units have disbursed but achieved results below the provincial average. To accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital in 2025, the Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee has directed departments, agencies and localities to focus on key tasks.

On the morning of April 11, the Provincial People's Committee held its 42nd Session for 2021 - 2026 term. Comrade Nguyen Huy Dung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the Session.

In the first quarter of 2025, total social investment capital in Thai Nguyen Province is estimated at approximately VND 14.3 trillion, an increase of 8.7% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the domestic economic sector contributed an estimated VND 7.4 trillion, up 3.0% year-on-year, while the foreign-invested economic sector accounted for nearly VND 6.9 trillion, up 15.7% over the same period.

In order to develop Dong Hy tea industry in a sustainable and modern direction, improve quality and added value for tea trees, Dong Hy District Party Committee has issued a Resolution on tea industry development for 2025 – 2030 period.
