The socio-economy of Thai Nguyen province has achieved encouraging results in the first 6 months of 2024. This was the assessment given at the press conference on the socio-economic situation for the first 6 months of 2024, held by the provincial Statistics Office this morning (June 24). The press conference was attended by representatives from various provincial departments, sectors and media agencies.

On the morning of June 15, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired an online conference with 32 provinces and cities, including Thai Nguyen province, on removing difficulties and promoting production and consumption of cement, iron and steel and building materials. Attending at the Government Headquarters end were Deputy Prime Ministers: Le Minh Khai; Tran Hong Ha; leaders of ministries, branches and representatives of associations, businesses and banks.

Preparing for the Nineteenth Session, 14th Provincial People's Council, attending the Conference were comrades Dang Xuan Truong, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mai Thi Thuy Nga, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Committees of the Provincial People's Council and relevant departments, branches and localities.

On June 10 morning, the Provincial Rural Development Sub-Department held the Opening Ceremony of a training course to foster knowledge on management, conservation and development of traditional craft villages associated with new rural (NR) construction for more than 40 trainees who are representatives from the Management Boards of traditional craft villages, cooperatives, production facilities and households from 4 districts (Phu Luong, Dai Tu, Dinh Hoa, Vo Nhai).

On the morning of June 9, in Pho Yen city, FECON Pho Yen Joint Stock Company (a member of FECON Invest Corporation - FECON Invest) held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Nam Thai Urban Area Project (area of 24.68 hectares). This is the first project attracting investment capital outside the budget to start construction in the 195-hectare Nam Thai Urban Area complex.

Recently, on May 29, 2024, the General Statistics Office of Vietnam announced the estimated GRDP figures for the second quarter and the first 6 months of 2024 for Thai Nguyen province.

According to information from the Provincial Statistics Department, in May 2024, the market for goods and services in the province remained relatively stable, thanks to a guaranteed supply of goods. Additionally, distributors actively introduced and promoted products, offering attractive promotions and discounts to stimulate consumer demand, resulting in a lively commercial and service activity.

According to a report of Thai Nguyen Province Statistics Office, total value of goods exported in May 2024 in the province is estimated to reach USD 2.06 billion, an increase of 6.6% from the previous month and an increase of 20.7% compared to the same period last year. Of this, the domestic economic sector is estimated to achieve USD 59.2 million, an increase of 1.5% from the previous month and 2.3% from the same period last year; the foreign-invested economic sector is estimated to reach over USD 2 billion, an increase of 6.8% from the previous month and 21.4% from the same period last year.

On May 31 morning at Go Moc Cultural House (Quyet Thang commune, Thai Nguyen city), the Rural Development Sub-department organized a training session to propagate policies and legal regulations related to production and business activities in rural occupations, as well as the conservation and development of traditional craft villages. The session was attended by 45 trainees representing production facilities and households in Go Moc Ornamental Plant Craft Village.

On May 30 morning, the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) held a workshop on improving the Provincial Innovation Index (PII) of Thai Nguyen Province. The workshop aimed to identify the advantages, challenges and obstacles to improve the ranking of each index, contributing to the enhancement of the overall Innovation Index of the province in 2024 and the following years.

Growing safe vegetables to meet the needs of his family, relatives, and the market to protect human health, increase income, and create jobs for local workers... This is the startup idea initiated and executed by Hoang Manh Tuan (Nung ethnic group), born in 1999, in Phu Thuong commune, Vo Nhai district.

Although growth did not meet expectations, in 2023, Thai Nguyen's economy demonstrated resilient endurance and remained among the provinces with relatively high growth rates in the country. These efforts have been creating a solid foundation for a more positive recovery in 2024, especially from the very beginning of the year. A new spirit for the goal of promoting growth in accordance with the direction of the Prime Minister is spreading and is expected to become a new driving force for Thai Nguyen's development goals

On May 17 evening, at Square 27 - 7 (Dai Tu), the Provincial People's Committee organized a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister’s Decision on recognizing Dai Tu District as a new rural (NR) district in 2023 and inaugurate the Dai Tu Tea Festival for Giap Thin Lunar New Year 2024. Attendees included: Nguyen Thanh Hai, Member of the Party Central Executive Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Pham Hoang Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ngo Truong Son, Chief of the Central NR Coordination Office; members of the Provincial Standing Committee; leaders of the People's Council - People's Committee - Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of provincial departments, branches, agencies and mass organizations; districts, cities...

On May 16 afternoon, Comrade Pham Hoang Son, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council received and worked with the Delegation of the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Embassy of Vietnam in Singapore to explore investment opportunities in Thai Nguyen Province. The meeting was attended by Mr. Kees van Baar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Vietnam; Mr. Mai Phuoc Dung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Singapore. The meeting was also attended by leaders of a number of departments, branches, localities, units and enterprises in the province.

The Chairman of Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee has just issued a document requesting provincial departments, agencies, units and district and city People's Committees to strengthen the management and supervision of investment projects using non-budgetary funds within Thai Nguyen province.

On May 16 morning, the DOST (DOST) organized a training conference on the management and traceability of products and goods in Thai Nguyen province. The training was attended by over 150 delegates, including officials, public servants and employees from various departments, sectors, mass organizations and district and city People's Committees in the province; leaders of associations, unions, businesses and cooperatives within the province.

On May 16 morning, Phu Binh Water Supply Company Limited held the Groundbreaking Ceremony of Phu Binh Water Plant Project at Hoa Binh Neighborhood, Huong Son Town (Phu Binh).

Masan High-Tech Materials (HNX-UpCOM: MSR) has announced that it has reached a framework agreement with Mitsubishi Materials Corporation Group.

On May 14 afternoon, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang chaired the Symposium on "Promoting the digitalization of the agricultural sector". The Conference was held in person at the bridge point of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and online with 63 provinces and cities nationwide.

With the goal of developing a residential area with comprehensive technical and social infrastructure to enhance land use efficiency, contribute to urban development, meet the housing needs of the population, and promote local economic and social development, the Department of Planning and Investment of Thai Nguyen Province has announced an invitation for investors to register for the implementation of the Residential Area Project No. 3 in Phu Binh District.
