According to the Planning Progress Report of the Department of Planning and Investment, the tasks of implementing the provincial planning is in accordance with the plan. The departments, divisions and localities have actively coordinated in providing the dossiers and documents, giving the comments and suggestions on draft reports; meeting the requirements of the implementation of the provincial planning. The specialized agencies and consulting joint ventures have surveyed and collected data in 09 districts, cities, towns and key areas expected to develop urban centers, clusters and industrial zones; deploying analysis and evaluation; synthesizing reports on assessment of socio-economic status of Thai Nguyen province and sending them to the departments, divisions and localities for reviewing and giving comments on the draft version of the status assessment report.
However, only 03 of 38 national sectoral master plans have been prepared and appraised until now, therefore, most of the sectors and fields have not had national orientation information as a basis for formulation and planning integration into the content of provincial planning; On the other hand, the Covid-19 epidemic has affected to the implementation progress of the related work contents.
At the meeting, the consulting unit reported the idea of making a provincial planning for the period of 2021 - 2030, with the vision to 2050 (2nd time). In which, analyzing and evaluating potentials and advantages, forecasting specific development factors and conditions and development situation of Thai Nguyen province; goals and vision to 2050; forecast prospects, needs, scenarios and selection of development plans, development-oriented targets of Thai Nguyen province in the period of 2021 - 2030; the key tasks and breakthroughs of the province in the planning period; the ideas, solutions for planning and developing Thai Nguyen province in the period of 2021 - 2030, with the vision to 2050.

After the discussion of leaders representing departments and sectors, Mr.Trinh Viet Hung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Steering Committee highly appreciated the consulting unit that prepared the report thoughtful, seriously, fully, ensuring progress according to the regulations. He suggested that the members of the Steering Committee submit their comments in writing to the Department of Planning and Investment - the standing body of the Steering Committee before July 20. The Department of Planning and Investment and the consulting unit need to consider fully, selectively, and critique based on science, and discuss collectively and consult the experts to supplement and complete planning. In August 2021, the Steering Committee will submit the comments to the Standing Committee and Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee before submitting to the ministries and departments for appraisal and submission to the Prime Minister for approval; Therefore, it is suggested that relevant departments and divisions speed up the progress, actively participate in giving the comments and review the plannings to promptly supplement to ensure the target progress.
