Thai Nguyen province leadership receives and works with the Hiroshima University delegation

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Mitsuo Ochi, President of Hiroshima University said: Hiroshima University is one of the first national universities in Japan. Currently, the school has 1,750 international students from 85 countries and territories, Currently, the school has 1,750 international students from 85 countries and territories, in which, international students who are Vietnamese rank third in number with 65 students. Up to now, there have been 343 Vietnamese alumni graduated from Hiroshima University. In the work program, the University successfully organized the signing ceremony of the agreement on the establishment of a satellite campus at the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Thai Nguyen University). From October 2024, the School plans to deploy the doctoral program in Agriculture at the University of Agriculture and Forestry. In addition, the University has trained public administration staff for the Ministry of Interior of Vietnam, and it is expected that this training program will be organized annually. Hiroshima University plans to cooperate with Japanese businesses to expand activities to Vietnam in fields: Agriculture, semiconductors, Carbon neutralization and smart cities… Mr. Mitsuo Ochi wishes to promote close cooperation with government agencies, universities and private enterprises in Vietnam in general and Thai Nguyen province in particular in these fields, and also wishes to receive more excellent students from Vietnam. For the time being, Hiroshima University requests Thai Nguyen province to support the University in recruiting doctoral students in Agriculture and support scholarships for students at the satellite campus at the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Thai Nguyen University).

Comrade Dang Xuan Truong, Permanent Vice Chairman of Thai Nguyen Province People's Committee informed the delegation about the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province in 2023. In particular, he emphasized that Thai Nguyen is one of the major training centers of the country with 10 universities, 12 colleges, 08 professional secondary schools, 30 vocational training centers and many research centers and institutes located in the province. He emphasized: Thai Nguyen Province wishes to cooperate with Hiroshima University in research and development in the field of advanced technologies such as semiconductor technology and hydrogen energy; medical and healthcare training; "Smart City" project; introduce potential investors to invest in Thai Nguyen province in the field of developing smart city technical infrastructure, information technology and telecommunications infrastructure, developing smart utilities for urban residents, developing research, manufacturing and application of smart city science and technology in Thai Nguyen province... The province commits to accompany and create all conditions for the early establishment of the satellite campus of Hiroshima University at the University of Agriculture and Forestry (Thai Nguyen University).

At the meeting, leaders of departments, branches and Thai Nguyen University also also proposed Hiroshima University to facilitate doctors of Thai Nguyen province to study at the School to improve their professional level; cooperate in developing high-quality health human resources training, specialized in connection with hospitals in the province; enhance comprehensive cooperation between Thai Nguyen University and Hiroshima University; train many majors, located at branches and member schools of Thai Nguyen University.
