Ghenh Che Lake community tourism site and its attraction since being recognized

Since its recognition, various central and local newspapers and radio stations have promoted and introduced the destination. They emphasize the natural beauty and culture of the local people. Members of the Ghenh Che Community Tourism Cooperative have constantly strived to improve their services, ensuring the criteria of a tourist destination, as well as diversifying the experience activities for visitors. Currently, the number of visitors here is quite diverse, of many ages, many localities and there have been groups of tourists organized by travel agencies.

Mr. Le Van Hiep, Director of Ghenh Che Community Tourism Cooperative, said: Since being recognized as a tourist destination of the province, the members of the Cooperative in particular and the people of Binh Son commune in general have been very proud and feel more responsible in preserving the landscape and building a more and more developed community tourism destination. Since then, Ghenh Che Lake Community Tourism Site has welcomed a fairly steady number of visitors (no longer as erratic as before), especially on weekends and holidays. The peak was the recent April 30 - May 1 holiday, when the tourist site welcomed over 3,000 visitors, many times higher than in previous years. This has given the service providers here more motivation to be excited and somewhat more secure when investing and renewing services.

Visitors to Ghenh Che Lake Community Tourism Site can also experience increasingly diverse services such as: In addition to taking a boat to explore nearly 100 hectares of water surface in the lake, visitors can also participate in the experience of Sup rowing on the lake. This is a fairly new activity and is loved by many young people.

The peninsulas around the lake and the poetic pine hills are likened to “miniature Da Lat”, which is chosen by many tourists for their sightseeing as well as camping and picnicking activities. Amidst the poetic scenery, visitors can freely admire the beautiful nature, check-in and enjoy unique local cuisine partie. It is the fresh air and unique landscape that have created a very unique feature of Ghenh Che Lake.

During the cruise to explore the lake, visitors can also visit the solidly built main dam with a length of nearly 400m. In the summer, the water in the spillway creates beautiful waterfalls. In addition, visitors can also visit the fish cage farming area, experience fish farming, and buy lake products as gifts.

Attractive cuisine at Ghenh Che Lake.

The cuisine here is extremely unique with dishes imbued with local culture, the main ingredients are agricultural products grown by local people, ensuring food hygiene and safety. A typical example is the Binh Son Grilled Chicken dish, which has been certified at the "Quintessence of Culinary Culture" Contest organized by Thai Nguyen province. In addition, there are other attractive dishes such as: Grilled snakehead fish, fried lake fish, grilled wild boar, goby fish cooked in sour soup, crispy river shrimp, pork leg salad, flower salad or steamed meat in bamboo leaves served with tea leaves, a specialty of Ghenh Che.

Currently, Ghenh Che Lake has 2 restaurants that can serve 150-200 visitors at a time. Visitors can also enjoy the cuisine on the islands (on-site service) or choose to enjoy the cuisine at the stilt house by the lake. There are currently 3 stilt houses serving visitors, each stilt house can accommodate 15-20 visitors

Coming to Ghenh Che Lake Community Tourism Site, visitors can visit and experience at Cao Son Tea Cooperative.

With such advantages, however, to develop this tourist destination furthermore, there are still many issues to discuss. Among them, it is necessary to diversify the products so that visitors have more experiences; the space and landscape need to be planned and invested to impress visitors; the staff needs to be more professional, focusing on training tour guides at the destination. They play an important role in promoting destination’s value. People also need to be more aware and responsible in tourism, not pursuing short-term benefits that destroy the landscape, rather, share benefits for mutual development.
