Thai Nguyen tea culture "shines" from Resolution No. 11

On February 3, 2025, the Party Executive Committee of Thai Nguyen Province issued Resolution No. 11/NQ-TU on the development of Thai Nguyen tea industry for 2025 – 2030 period. The Resolution was promulgated on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, a significant milestone that underscores the Party’s strong leadership in promoting the growth of Thai Nguyen tea industry.

At the Conferences of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Comrade Trinh Viet Hung, Alternate Member of the Party Central Executive Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, directed relevant sectors and localities to implement Resolution No. 11 seriously and effectively, urging swift action to bring the Resolution into practical application. He emphasized that all districts and communes with tea cultivation must issue their own resolutions to ensure seamless and continuous leadership and direction

This is also considered an important "guideline" and strategic orientation for Thai Nguyen tea industry, with the goal of achieving revenue of VND 25 trillion by 2030. At the same time, the Resolution also emphasizes the preservation and promotion of the tangible and intangible value of tea trees and tea products, contributing to improving the value and influence of Thai Nguyen tea culture.

Just two days after the Resolution was issued, Thai Nguyen Province Party Standing Committee held a direct working session with the leadership of Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative to listen to the report on the proposed plan to develop Thai Nguyen tea culture and tea appreciation art in 2025. Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative came up with plans to invest in infrastructure and facilities in four renowned locations of “The Four Great Teas" of Thai Nguyen, along with a plan to preserve and promote the value of ancient tea gardens in Dai Tu district for 2025 – 2030 period, to be recognized according to the regulations on conservation and promotion of heritage values...

By March 2025, the Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee will continue to have a direct meeting with Hao Dat Tea Cooperative in Tan Cuong Commune, Thai Nguyen City to discuss the planning and construction of a residential area combined with commerce, services, culture and tea tourism in Tan Cuong. This is an important step for the sustainable development of the tea industry and tea products of the province.

In particular, right after the Resolution was issued, Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative - a unit that has always accompanied the province in developing Thai Nguyen tea culture right from the first Tea Festivals of the province, took the lead in collaborating with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with other agencies and localities to organize 8 cultural exchange programs on Thai Nguyen tea and tea appreciation art with the participation of nearly 3,000 delegates who are provincial leaders; leaders of provincial departments, agencies and specialized divisions; leaders of districts and cities and their specialized offices; communes, representatives from wards and townships; tea culture artisans from within and outside the province; leaders of associations, business associations and enterprises both within and outside the province; officials, public servants, employees and workers involved in tea products and tea culture; members of the Tea Association; women’s association members; youth union members; lecturers, students; cooperatives, tea craft villages, tea growers and residents across the province. Among these, one program was held at Chien Cong Industrial and Transport Cooperative; five programs took place in various localities (Song Cong City, Dong Hy District, Dinh Hoa District, Phu Luong District and Vo Nhai District); one program was dedicated to women’s association members; and one program was organized for youth union members in the province.

In these programs, under the direct guidance of tea artisan and journalist Hoang Anh Suong - a figure with extensive experience and profound dedication to the development of Vietnamese tea culture - the delegates gained valuable knowledge about the development of the Vietnamese tea industry in general and Thai Nguyen tea in particular, the unique characteristics of Thai Nguyen tea culture, tea brewing techniques, tea appreciation art...

These tea culture exchange programs serve not only as a “bridge” to bring Resolution No. 11 into practice but also play a vital role in enhancing knowledge and skills related to tea culture and tea appreciation art, thereby having a deeper understanding and appreciation of the spiritual values of tea, further spreading the flavor, value and brand of Thai Nguyen tea on the international cultural map.

Along with these activities, communication efforts regarding Resolution No. 11, tea culture communication in particular and Thai Nguyen tea industry communication in general have been promoted by press agencies on many platforms in order to raise public awareness of the important role of the tea industry in local economic development, creating a strong spread, affirming the value and brand of Thai Nguyen tea.

With specific and practical activities, Thai Nguyen not only preserves and promotes traditional values but also orients the development of a sustainable tea industry, aiming to reach VND 25 trillion by 2030, bringing Thai Nguyen's tea industry to "rise up" and "shine" on the Vietnamese and international tea map.
