With the guiding principle of "Transportation leads the way”, from the beginning of the term, the Party Committee of the Department has focused on advising the province to accelerate investment in a synchronized and modern transportation system, particularly in the southern region - an area identified as the key economic development engine of the province. Based on the provincial planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, a series of key transportation projects have been planned and implemented, including: The Road connecting Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Vinh Phuc provinces with a total investment of over VND 4,200 billion; the Ring Road V of Hanoi Capital region (section from Phu Binh District connecting to Bac Giang Province) with total capital of nearly VND 700 billion; the Road connecting Provincial Road 261 - Provincial Road 266 with total investment of VND 736 billion; including projects that have been completed and put into operation during this term, contributing to significantly expanding development space for Pho Yen City, Phu Binh District, Dai Tu District and adjacent areas.

Since 2020, the province has allocated VND 9,172 billion for 26 transportation projects managed at the provincial level, accounting for nearly 41% of the medium-term public investment plan. Of these, 17 projects have been completed with a total length of 158 km, including both new routes and upgraded, expanded routes. Additionally, over 2,200 km of rural roads have been renovated and upgraded, creating positive changes in connecting remote and distant areas while ensuring service to production development and improving travel conditions for residents.

Not only focusing on transportation, during the past term, the Construction Sector has effectively implemented planning work and urban and rural development orientation. Master plans, detailed plans and district-level regional plans have been developed and adjusted in a timely manner, ensuring compatibility with provincial planning and strategic economic-social development orientations. Notably, the elevation of Pho Yen Town to city status was completed three years earlier than Resolution No. 12-NQ/TU of Thai Nguyen Province Party Committee - a remarkable achievement demonstrating the effective coordination between the sector and local government. Additionally, Hoa Thuong Town (Dong Hy), Diem Thuy New Urban Area (Phu Binh) and Quan Chu Town (Dai Tu) have also been upgraded to Class V urban areas, contributing to the completion of the urban network throughout the province.

Along with planning, housing development, particularly social housing, has been systematically implemented by the sector. The housing and real estate market information system has been constructed and operated effectively. The social housing development plan for the 2021-2025 period has been implemented on schedule, meeting actual housing needs. As of 2024, the rate of urban households using clean water reached 98.5%; the rate of public transportation vehicles using green energy reached 35.55%, clearly reflecting the transformation in technical infrastructure quality and urban public utility services.

In addition to the achievements in construction, transportation and planning, administrative reform and digital transformation have also received special attention from the sector. Administrative procedures such as construction permits, project appraisal, driver training and testing have been digitized, shortening processing time, making procedures transparent and enhancing satisfaction among citizens and enterprises. The sector has also advised on the timely issuance and publication of construction unit prices, drainage service prices, cemetery prices, housing compensation unit prices, etc., to improve the efficiency of construction investment management and public utility services throughout the province.

Comrade Pham Quang Anh, Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Department of Construction, stated: "We clearly recognize the role of infrastructure as a lever for development. Therefore, during the past term, the sector has concentrated all efforts on advising and implementing a series of key projects, while innovating planning thinking, modernizing management and serving citizens and enterprises more effectively. The achievements not only serve immediate objectives but also provide a foundation for the province's next development period".

He also affirmed that during the management process, the sector has always focused on promoting internal unity, tightening administrative discipline and proactively applying modern technology to improve work efficiency; accelerating administrative reform, building sector databases, implementing electronic fee collection and transparently publishing price indices and construction unit prices, thereby building trust among the people and business community.

For the upcoming term's orientation, the sector has determined to continue developing modern, green and smart infrastructure, improve urban quality and comprehensively enhance public services. Comrade Pham Quang Anh further stated: The sector will focus on advising the implementation of strategic expressways such as Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Bac Kan - Cao Bang (CT.07); continue investing in new industrial parks such as Song Cong II, Phu Binh, Yen Binh 2, 3, Cho Moi; Ring Road V (CT.39) ... In particular, we will develop a public transportation system using clean energy, ensure 100% of urban households have access to clean water and raise the urbanization rate higher than the national average.

On June 11, 2025, the First Party Congress of the Department of Construction of Thai Nguyen Province for the 2025-2030 term will officially take place. This is an event of special significance, affirming the maturity of the apparatus after the merger of two agencies, while setting new requirements in the context of preparing for the administrative unit merger between Thai Nguyen and Bac Kan provinces. The Congress is an opportunity for the entire sector to look back on the journey taken, properly assess the current situation, draw lessons learned and outline directions and tasks suitable for new development requirements. This is also an important milestone to establish the position and role of the sector in the cause of infrastructure development, promoting regional connectivity and serving the sustainable development goals of the province and the northern midland and mountainous region.

With the spirit of "Unity - Innovation - Development”, the entire Construction Sector of Thai Nguyen Province enters the new term with high determination and great aspirations, continuing to promote achieved results, overcome limitations, effectively exploit potential and advantages and make worthy contributions to the province's economic-social development in the coming period.
