Agree on a plan to meet Dien Bien soldiers

On March 19 morning, the Standing Agency of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee held a conference to agree on the plan to organize meetings, visit and give gifts to families of martyrs, soldiers in Dien Bien, youth volunteers and firefighters who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign. Comrade Duong Van Tien, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front, chaired the conference. The conference was attended by leaders of relevant departments, boards, sectors and units.

According to the content of the draft plan, on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024), the province will organize meetings with soldiers from Dien Bien, youth volunteers and firefighters who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign, with about 70 official delegates currently living and residing in the province, who are in good health. The expected time is the last week of April 2024. Additionally, delegations will be organized to visit and deliver gifts to the families of martyrs and soldiers from Dien Bien, youth volunteers and firefighters who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu Campaign at both the provincial and district levels. The gift-giving period is scheduled from April 15 to May 2, 2024.

Speaking at the conference, Comrade Duong Van Tien, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee affirmed: The activities of meeting, visiting and giving gifts on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu victory hold immense significance, demonstrating profound gratitude to those who directly contributed to the glorious victory of Dien Bien Phu, "Shining across continents, shaking the globe" and encouraging and motivating veterans, officers and soldiers of the armed forces throughout the province to continue to uphold and promote the noble qualities and traditions of the Vietnam People's Army. Comrade Duong Van Tien proposed that the departments, boards and sectors of the province continue to study and coordinate with the Provincial Fatherland Front to urgently review the list of delegates; develop budget plans and organizational plans for meetings to ensure solemnity and significance; and assign the advisory department to absorb the opinions and contributions of the delegates at the conference for incorporation, revision and improvement of the plan.
